Water Cooler

O+A was invited to create a future vision of work at Salone de Mobile in Milan. Set in the distant future, I conceived of a contemplative work environment that started with a dystopian assumption of the future—a scarcity of water so severe that it’s a precious resource. Water became a metaphor for meditative states, for healing and restoration. The metaphorical ‘watercooler’ became a place to connect and build community around resilience in the face of environmental collapse.
